A wing-style science classroom design offers a highly efficient and contemporary approach to supporting both practical and theoretical science teaching. In this layout, fixed wing-shaped benching—typically arranged along the perimeter or in angled configurations—houses essential services such as gas, water, and electricity. The design allows for a clear and organised learning environment, supporting structured practical work while maintaining open lines of sight for effective supervision.
By separating serviced benching into distinct zones, the wing design enhances safety, reduces overcrowding at utility points, and enables smooth circulation for both staff and pupils. The angled configuration also encourages collaboration in small groups while maintaining an orderly layout that supports focused learning. This structured yet adaptable design is ideal for delivering a broad science curriculum in a space-efficient and future-proof manner.

The wing system provides a modern layout with all pupils facing front of class, the layout can easily incorporate an i-wall at the teaching end of the classroom offering interactivity.
The wing concept has number of variations for the worktop configuration utilising curves, angular or straight designs.
Ample storage and work top space
The wing system can provide a lot of storage space in the classroom alongside providing ample work surface space for students and teachers alike. Services such as gas and electric are all contained within special maintenance panels within the units, keeping both the services and pupils safe.

Typical Storage Configuration for wings
The wing 1 system consists of two double cupboards, one sink unit and one single cupboard. if a sink unit is not required then this can be replaced with a single cupboard.
The wing 2 system consists of two double cupboards and one sink unit. Again if a sink unit is not required this can be replaced with a single cupboard.
The wing 3 system is made up of one double cupboard, one sink unit, one single cupboard and gratnell tray unit on the wing end. The sink unit can be replaced with a single cupboard if not required.
The wing 4 system consists of two double cupboards, one sink unit and a gratnell tray unit on the end, the sink can be replaced by a cupboard unit if required.
The wing 5 system consists of two double cupboards, one sink unit and one single cupboard. if a sink unit is not required then this can be replaced with a single cupboard.
