Al Maha Boys and Girls Academy

Al Maha boys and girls academy’s ares one of three academies that come under the umbrella of the Ta’allum Group.  The academies are comprised of three schools, Kindergarten, Primary and Secondary.

The Primary school is the largest of the three schools and over 1000 students. The secondary school has little over 500 students with students completing their IGCSEs, AS Levels and Qatar Thanawia by the end of year 12.

InterFocus was commissioned to provide new science classrooms for both the girls and boys schools. These were new build schools at the time. We had a 4 week manufacturing period prior to loading the units into four 40ft shipping containers, the containers were then sent to Southampton for an approximate 6 week trip to the port of QATAR.

Once confirmation the shipping containers had arrived at the new school site, two of our installation engineers left the UK for QATAR to begin their 6 week installation period.

To help reduce costs, the school provided us with local labour, during the installation our fitters would train these staff members to fit our furniture so that any future works could easily be carried out by their staff members if required in the future.

This was quite a challenging project, especially due to the hot temperatures experienced in Mid July, the school was still being built so the air conditioning was not commissioned, our team decided once there it was better to do the installation at night when it was at its coolest (a mere 40 deg C) rather than the upper forties experienced during the day.
